Mahto took his last breath in a hospital in Chennai on Thursday morning (April 6, 2023). Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren shared the tragic news on Twitter.
Mahto underwent a lung transplant after contracting COVID-19 in 2020. He was ill during Jharkhand’s recent budget session, due to which Mahto was airlifted to Chennai.
So, Jagarnath was receiving treatment at the hospital but couldn’t survive. None of the officials have shared much about this tragic death, as they seem to be seeking privacy.
