Ryan McPartlin is an American actor. He is best recognized for his role as Devon Woodcomb on the NBC action-comedy series Chuck (TV series, 2007–2012).

Education

Ryan McPartlin grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and attended Glenbard South High School. After graduating with a degree in speech communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. He later joined the Illinois Fighting Illini football team as a walk-on tight end of 1993 to 95.

He has an older brother, named Chris, who was also a member of the Illinois football team, earning a varsity letter as a linebacker in 1994. McPartlin spent six months in Australia and New Zealand and then moved to Southern California to pursue acting as a career. He spent years as an Abercrombie & Fitch model.

Career

His first acting role was on the television sitcom The Nanny (1999) as a Leonardo DiCaprio-type character in a Titanic parody. He is also best known for his role on the popular NBC series Passions, replacing Dalton James from April 2001 until June 2004.

He flashed in the series L.A. 7 (TV series, 2000) as Ryan. McPartlin worked with Drescher again as Riley Martin on the television sitcom Living with Fran that aired on The WB. But the series Living with Fran got canceled on May 17, 2006, after two seasons.

Ryan McPartlin basically auditioned for the role of Clark Kent/Superman in the film Superman Returns but lost the role. In 2008, Ryan took part in Mad Men, playing an affair of January Jones’s character, Betty Draper.
